8 Free, Self-Paced Tech & Career Training Platforms
All eight of these are real, currently active, free platforms — verified directly on their own sites rather than taken from a forwarded list. freeCodeCamp and The Odin Project are both free, full web-development curriculums (the Odin Project is open-source and community-supported). Salesforce Trailhead offers free hands-on training toward 60+ official Salesforce certifications. Microsoft Learn offers 700+ free learning paths, including prep for Azure certifications like AZ-104, AZ-204 and AZ-400. ServiceNow runs free on-demand courses through its Now Learning platform. IBM SkillsBuild offers free courses in areas like cybersecurity, data analysis and project management. GCFGlobal rebranded to LearnFree.org and still offers 200+ free tutorials on computer basics, job skills and more. Codewars is a free coding-practice platform with challenges across 55+ languages.

The fine print worth knowing before you go
- 1
Free tier only — some platforms upsell paid add-ons
Several of these (Codewars, Microsoft Learn's instructor-led options) offer optional paid tiers or live-instructor add-ons. The core self-paced training on all eight is free; just don't assume every button on the page is free too.

Not official certifications by themselves
Trailhead badges, freeCodeCamp certs, and Odin Project completion are real credentials for a resume, but platform-issued certificates are not the same as paid, proctored, vendor certification exams (like an actual Microsoft or Salesforce certification exam) — some paths do link out to a paid exam at the end.
Eight legitimate, no-cost ways to build job-ready tech skills on your own schedule — good next step after (or alongside) a free bootcamp or training grant listed elsewhere on this site.
The Fine Print is not affiliated with freeCodeCamp. This page is research to help you prepare, not legal or financial advice. Details can change, so confirm everything with the official source before you rely on it.
